Genesys Configuration Manager (often called CME) is an administrative console used to configure and maintain a Genesys contact center environment. It connects to the Genesys Configuration Server to let authorized users define and manage the objects and settings that drive routing and operations.

Key capabilities:

  • Create and manage tenants, agents and agent groups, skills and proficiency levels
  • Configure DNs and places (extensions and endpoints), routing points/queues, switches, and trunks
  • Register and maintain applications and servers, including option keys and parameters
  • Apply role-based access control and partitions to segment visibility and permissions
  • Perform bulk updates and use import/export to promote configurations across dev/test/prod

Typical use cases include onboarding agents, assigning skills, mapping extensions, registering services, and adjusting routing-related settings. Genesys Configuration Manager is widely used in established deployments and often coexists with newer web-based administration tools in the Genesys suite.
